Matt has been really in to his old-fashioneds lately, and I’ve got to say… I’ve become fond of them myself. So, in the spirit of the holiday, we jazzed up the classic old-fashioned with some warmth, winter citrus + festive garnishes, of course! Cheers!
-fresh ginger, peeled + thinly sliced
-clementine, quartered (peel on)
-2-3 fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
-1/2-1 tsp. granulated sugar
-2 dashes angostura bitters
-2 oz. bourbon
-1/2 oz. water (optional)
add two slices of ginger, cherries, sugar and bitters to a heavy glass + muddle.
rim serving glasses with clementine juice + sugar. roll cherries + clementine into leftover sugar to give fruit a “frosted” look. thread desired garnish onto a cocktail pick.
add bourbon (+ water, if using) to glass, stir. strain bourbon mixture into serving glasses.
top with ice + garnish.
