patterns + prints (and an obvious love for stripes)
Black and white striped tees have long held a spot in my own personal list of fashion staples (and in my heart) - A great way to kick up your tee game, stripes are perfection with overalls, cardis, prints and more! Think of your basic striped tee as a basic that can be paired with most prints. A great way to start is to look for a print that color coordinates with your stripes, as you grow comfortable with the look, you'll be hard pressed to find something that doesn't go with your trusty stripes!

Some general rules to follow when mixing prints and patterns:
*Think of stripes as a neutral (we already covered this one, remember!?)
*Play with scale: Mix prints with different sizes, such as a gingham check and a bold floral or skinny stripes and an animal print.
*Color coordinate: Choosing prints and patterns that share colors keeps your look cohesive.
*Incorporate neutrals: Chunky knits, chambray, and leather are great accents to your mismatched prints and help to tone down your look for an easy vibe that's still polished.
I get it, mixing patterns can be into intimidating. It doesn't have to be though! Start with a great basic striped tee and give it a shot - You got this! A bit more about my look: I scored this pleated skirt from H&M on clearance last spring and couldn't wait for fall to roll around so I could style it - The print was perfect paired with my striped tee, booties, and a felt hat from Target.
