fall wardrobe must-haves!

I hope it’s not too late to share (it’s not) my picks for your fall wardrobe staples! From colorblocking to plaid blazers and teddy coats, there are some really fun fall trends happening this year, beyond your typical chunky knits and leggings - But don’t worry, there will be plenty of that, too! Incorporating some of these pieces into your wardrobe should be easy, as they’ll likely compliment many of the pieces you already own - I’ve linked up a few of my favs in each category, below. There are a ton of affordable options out there, so you can rock your trends without breaking the bank!

High-Ankle Bootie

I love how our favorite fall/winter footwear option has changed it’s silhouette (do shoes have a silhouette?) a bit - We’re now seeing a more pointed toe, which helps elongate the legs, and a higher ankle. I love this style bootie with leggings, straight or boyfriend-cut denim, as well as with midi dresses and mini skirts! *Bonus points for animal print!

Teddy Coat

What’s not to love about a teddy coat? They’re so soft and snuggly, so you can look adorable while staying warm! This is a fall/winter MUST HAVE! A few of my favs are below, but there are a ton of under $100 options out there.

Mini Skirt

I recently discovered that I have a mild obsession with mini skirts …Perfect timing right?! You can easily style minis for fall by pairing with over-the-knee boots, or a pair of high-ankle boots (see above) + topping with your favorite sweater! There are tons of cold-weather friendly mini options in stores right now, as well - I love corduroy, leather, sequin and of course, classic denim!

This mini (linked above) is $35 and is super flattering with it’s tie-waist and wrap front. It’s also stretchy :D

Colorblock Sweater

I’m sure you guys have noticed the colorblock trend already - These colorful sweaters are lining the shelves of all of our favorite retailers, which means there are so many color, price, and silhouette options available. Colorblocking is a great way to bring a little life to an otherwise dreary fall day - I’m also loving some of the 90s-style striped ribbed sweaters (see above)!

Goes-With-Everything Sweater

You know the one - This above anything on this list, will likely be your #1 most worn piece. Pair with faux leather leggings and heels for a night out, with jeans and booties for a casual dinner, also works with: sparkly bottoms (for holiday), mini skirts, layered with a plaid blazer, you get the picture…

Plaid Blazer

I’m SO into this one! The glen plaid trend made it’s appearance last winter, and I couldn’t be happier to see it coming back even stronger this year! Like all of the other trends mentioned here, these blazers are e v e r y w h e r e so there are plenty of options when it comes to style, fit, color and price! I own the one, linked below, from Forever 21 - It’s $37 and has such a flattering fit. In terms of styling: These blazers look super chic with an all black or all denim look, paired with a graphic tee or sweater, or if your blazer is on the longer side, you can button and belt and wear it as a dress + some OTK boots. Dayummmm.

Hair Accessories

Hair accessories are also making a comeback: scrunchies, headbands, hair clips… you name it. Nowadays, these cuties come in pretty textiles and prints like velvet, or florals and make the sweetest, most perfect compliment to your fall look. Love a velvet headband or bow scrunchie with a fuzzy, oversized sweater and a high pony or messy bun. SO CUTE.
